V-て あげます (V-te agemasu) — Do something for someone
Doing a favor for someone.

Meaning
- To say you "do" something for someone rather than give a thing, use the て-form + あげます／もらいます／くれます — same directions as Lesson 7.
- てあげます = I (or someone) do it for another person: 私はともだちに本を読んであげます (I read a book to my friend).
How to attach
The person you do it for takes に.
Watch out
Saying 〜てあげます directly to a superior (boss, teacher) sounds like "I did you a favor" — use it with friends, family and juniors only.
