Purpose & Quantity
- 1 V dictionary form / N + の + ために、〜 V-jisho / N no + tame ni, ~ For the purpose of ~ The pattern for saying what you do in order to reach a goal you set yourself.
- 2 V dictionary form + のに / N + に 〜 V-jisho + no ni / N + ni ~ For a use or purpose The pattern for saying what a thing is used for, or what that job costs you.
- 3 数量 + は suuryou + wa At least this much は after a number sets the floor — at least this much.
- 4 数量 + も suuryou + mo As many as! (the partner of は) も after a number adds the surprise of "a full that many!" — the exact opposite of は.
- 5 〜だけで ~dake de Just by doing that The pattern for saying the result came from that much alone, with nothing else needed.
- 6 数量 + おきに suuryou + oki ni At intervals of ~ The pattern for saying how big a gap is left between one time and the next.
