Meaning
One more job for の: joining a noun to a position word — いすの下 (under the chair), えきの前 (in front of the station).
How to attach
- The place made this way can end with です as in Lesson 3: ねこはいすの下です (The cat is under the chair).
- Or with 〜にいます／あります: ねこはいすの下にいます — both correct.
Versus what you know
Like "whose?" (Lesson 1) and "from where?" (Lesson 3), it is still "…'s" — object in front, position after.
