〜ましょうか (-mashou ka) — Shall I / shall we ~?
A polite way to offer help or suggest doing something together.

When to use it
- Seeing someone hot: まどをあけましょうか (Shall I open the window?).
- When it is dark: 電気をつけましょうか (Shall I turn on the light?).
Meaning
- The ましょうか from Lesson 6 returns — this time with the focus on offering help.
- The same form suggests doing something together: いっしょに行きましょうか.
How to attach
- Remove ます, add ましょうか: あけます ──> あけ ──> あけましょうか (Shall I open it?).
- To accept: はい、お願いします; to decline: いいえ、けっこうです.
